Justin Loth is an experienced electrical engineer and energy leader with nearly 15 years in utility-scale power systems and grid development. As Executive Director of Power Development at Provident, he leverages his expertise from Oncor Electric Delivery, where he led strategic transmission planning for Texas’s largest electric grid. His deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks (NERC, ERCOT, FERC) and grid operations has enabled him to deliver fast-tracked, scalable power solutions for hyperscale data centers, including multiple $200M+ capital projects. Justin is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration. His diverse background across utilities and ISOs positions him as a trusted technical strategist for navigating Texas’s complex power landscape.
Mason brings over 20 years of deep expertise in MEP engineering, technology design, and commissioning services. Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation for delivering innovative, high-performance solutions across complex projects. Mason joins us from Telios, where he served as Executive Vice President and spent more than two decades spearheading the design, construction management, and development of hyperscale data centers.
Jack Backes is a Principal Strategist at Provident Data Centers, where he leads strategic partnerships, industry outreach, and power solutions. His career spans real estate, data center infrastructure, and software engineering, including leading data center optimization efforts at LinkedIn and serving as founding engineer of Tensorlake’s LLM orchestration platform, Indexify. Jack began his career at Provident and later founded DXZ Media, an app and web development firm connecting real estate and tech. Now, after 12 years away, he returns to Provident with deep cross-industry expertise, supported by academic work at the University of Pennsylvania and ongoing studies at SMU in Datacenter Systems Engineering.
Jack Jones serves as Director of Construction Management for Provident Data Centers. A mission-critical/data center veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Jack has overseen every phase of data center development, from conceptual design to final handover.
A proven leader and team builder, Jack has delivered over 500MW of large-scale Tier 3 and Tier 4 data center facilities across 4 continents. Over the course of his career, he has served as the Owner, the Builder, the Design Representative, and the Facility User, giving him a holistic perspective on what world-class delivery requires.
Jack’s past clients include Google, Citigroup, USAA, Bank of America, VISA, CyrusOne, Digital Realty, and Stream Data Centers. LEED-accredited since 2003, Jack has long-championed sustainability and efficiency. His experience and leadership will guide Provident’s delivery of cutting-edge computing facilities, ensuring safety, quality commissioning, and on-time execution.
Basil brings 15 years of experience in real estate development and has delivered approximately $1B in value through the acquisition, entitlement, development, construction, and sale of high-value assets. Since joining Provident in 2019, he has led initiatives across multiple asset classes and now the advancement of the company’s Data Center development pipeline, driving strategic growth in this rapidly evolving sector. Before joining Provident, Basil managed high-profile development projects in Boston and New York for Lincoln Property Company, building a strong track record in complex urban markets. His expertise spans the entire lifecycle of real estate development, with a focus on creating immediate and long-term value through opportunistic and innovative strategies.
Nick Farris joined Provident in 2019, bringing over 20 years of experience in real estate law, development, and brokerage. His broad background spans all major aspects of real estate, including development, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, and legal strategy. At Provident, Nick applies his multidisciplinary expertise to support the firm’s growing portfolio of mission-critical infrastructure, with a focus on data center development and transactions.
Joining Provident in 2014, Kip brings over 35 years of experience in the Commercial Real Estate Industry focusing on the acquisition and development of multiple asset classes. Launching in December 2021, Kip spearheaded the Industrial Service Facilities (ISF) platform which has acquired and is currently developing a portfolio with a value over $100M. Kip also specializes in government incentivized RE opportunities, including but not limited to Historic and Low-Income Tax Credits, EB-5, and Opportunity Zones. He also has received numerous redevelopment awards including the Urban Land Institute “Development of Distinction” as well as the National Park Service-J. Timothy Anderson (TIMMY) “Award for Excellence In Historic Preservation”.
Joining Provident in January 2021, Chris focuses on acquisition and development opportunities for the Provident Data Centers Platform. He is instrumental in the execution of real estate developments from site selection through disposition. With a previous focus on other various development platforms, including Multifamily, Build-to-Rent, Industrial, and Industrial Service Facilities, Chris has an in-depth knowledge of the development lifecycle. Most recently, Chris served at Cambridge Holdings for 6.5 years where he spearheaded various development projects; including urban mixed-use communities, multifamily, office, medical office, hospitality, and retail. Prior experience includes working for a global CRE private equity firm and a full-service commercial mortgage bank.
